The founder behind Coco Bonito has always looked for outstanding accessories and clothing for herself, which she could not find in the temporary fashion market. That’s why she came up with the idea of the trendy glasses chains, but also with the iconic fannypack collection that was launched in 2014. Her biggest passion is traveling around the world and going off the beaten track. While broadening her horizon, she always gets inspired by local handicrafts and remote tribes. She found out there are so much more artisanal crafts to discover all over the world. This also resulted in the many co-creations we have with local female artisans in India, Kenya, Peru, Thailand and so on.
As a fashion brand they feel deeply responsible for the impact we have on our planet and human welfare. Coco Bonito try to focus more and more on a socially responsible production of (sun)glasses chains with a low CO2 footprint. That's why they have been working with traditional people and tribes in different countries. With these co-creations they pay the local artisans a fair income so they can meet their basic needs. For the productions they use ancient and vintage materials and so we avoid unnecessary pollution and waste. We also find it very important to bring their centuries-old traditions, beautiful crafts and their sustainable way of life to the attention in the Western world.
